11–13 March 2021, Semuel Lala – Mortal coil
The first exhibition in the new space of Lateral Roma, located in the Roman neighbourhood of Appio-Latino, brings together four sound works by artists Tobias Koch, Rada Koželj, Double Goocher Shop and Semuel Lala. Each artist’s work can be heard for three days, inviting visitors to concentrated listening sessions.
Mortal coil is an empty container as well as an interpassive exercise in living a fruitfully laborious life in cyclical repetitions. In the vein of a sedated bourgeois chronological melody, the object in mortal coil performs a living out of a fulfilling life so that the subject (audience) doesn’t have to.
