8 October–2 November 2022, Beatrice Tabacchi — Main Character Syndrome
Lateral Roma is glad to invite you to the opening of Main Character Syndrome by Beatrice Tabacchi. The exhibition brings together a group of new works developed by the artist during the weeks she spent at Lateral for her residency. Illustrating the stories and movements of a character-figure embedded in its landscapes, Tabacchi's drawings and paintings articulate non linear-narratives and build a formal universe in metamorphosis, made of shapes and feelings, of colors, shadows and stardust.
Beatrice Tabacchi (b. 1997 Palombara Sabina) is a multimedia installation artist and painter. She graduated at Bard College, class of 2019 (Red Hook, New York). Group and solo exhibitions include: When angel met Pinocchio (2019), Bard College Exhibition Center in Red Hook, New York; Holiday (2019) at LABspace, New York; Procession of the Bacchae (2019) in Annandale-on- Hudson, New York; and others. In addition to her solo work as an artist, Tabacchi has worked extensively in collaborative contexts with other artists, curators and scholars. As senior research fellow for the Difference in Media Project (2017-2019), she collaborated and hosted artists such as Clifford Owens, Hannah Black, Precious Okoyomon, and Sheida Soleimani, among others. At the end of 2020, Beatrice Tabacchi moved back to Rome after many years living abroad and established her studio practice from home, in the San Lorenzo neighborhood.
Main Character Syndrome is on view until 2 November 2022 and can be visited by appointment. For info please contact info@lateralroma.eu
