7-8-9 December 2022, BACK TO THE LEAVE – a series of three workshops with PRICE and Michele Rizzo
Impressions of the first workshop that took place in June 1-2-3
How would a gaze feel if the reason for its investigation would need to be constantly renegotiated ? How do my sentiments and my jealousy cope if my gaze is being ignored and at the same time reused as a source of reflection? Remember that feeling, someone includes you in a dialogue, but hasn't let you speak once? How would I write today if my throat had received the freedom to move with the other muscles without having to serve words? If orientation would be another, what would today be stored inside of? I haven’t been informed. I often end up realising all my efforts go into looking through someone else’s gaze. What if then I become a spectator to my own gaze, which escapes my capability of agency? Can it be fun to lose purpose?
Back to the leave is a workshop held by PRICE and Michele Rizzo and brings their artistic and choreographic practices together for the first time. It will include song, language and choreography.
The participants will explore, together with PRICE and Rizzo, how an emptying of the norms of the gaze and the norms of the voice-language is necessary in order to create new possible collectives and choreographic states that are detached from habits. There are movements we had to give up in order to get where we are. We want to leave our goal and take back what we gave up back then.
Open Rehearsal with after talk: Friday December 9, 20pm
